Hi, I'm Alex.

I know takeaways from the inside. My family runs a Chinese takeaway, and I've worked in Chinese restaurants and takeaways myself, so I know the Friday rush, the tight margins and the commission bills.

When our takeaway was quiet and leaning on the delivery apps, I built our own ordering website and apps.

It's busy now, and most of our orders come straight through our own website.

I have a Computer Science degree and worked as a software engineer. Now I run Direct Dish, doing the same for other takeaways.

Questions

Do I have to leave the delivery apps?

No. Plenty of takeaways keep the apps for new customers and move their regulars onto their own site. Every order that moves keeps its commission in your till.

Who keeps the service charge?

You do, all of it. Direct Dish takes no cut of your orders. You pay the monthly plan and that's it.

How long does it take?

It depends on your menu and the design you choose. Your website usually goes live first. The apps follow once Apple and Google have reviewed and approved them, and how long they take is up to them.

What support is included?

Hosting, updates and support are included in your monthly plan, subject to availability. Bigger changes and new features are priced before I start, so there are no surprises.

Can customers pay by card?

Yes, by card or cash. Card payments go through a payment provider, which charges its own small fee per payment.

Will orders print in my kitchen?

Yes. New orders print automatically on your receipt printer. I'll check your printer works during setup.

What do I need to do for setup?

Very little. Send me your menu and a few photos if you have them. I build the site, upload everything, and you check it before it goes live.

Can you design something completely different?

Yes. The templates are just starting points. I can design and build any type of website from scratch, laid out however you like, including sites for businesses other than takeaways. Custom work is priced on the job.

Can I see a real one working?

Yes. Text me and I'll show you a live site and app on your phone.
